We are excited to invite you to apply for acceptance into the Global Mentoring Program for Research Administrators Pilot Program. This program is supported by the National Council for University of Research Administrators (NCURA) via the NCURA Research Project funding program.
The project pilots a mentoring program for international research administrators that pairs the internationally based mentee with a more senior US based mentor. The program is being piloted by University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), in collaboration with NCURA International Region (Region VIII) of NCURA. We are currently accepting applications for both mentees and mentors; the application deadline is July 10, 2017.
The pilot program will start with a Kick-Off and Training Program during the Annual NCURA National Meeting held in Washington, D.C. between August 5-10, 2017 for both mentors and mentees. Attendance at the Kick-Off and Training Program is a requirement for participation in the program.
Subsequently, each mentor/mentee pair will establish regularly scheduled meetings at a frequency of their choice, but no less than monthly. In addition, there will be regularly scheduled on-line meetings for the mentees as a group, the mentors as a group, and meetings for both mentors and mentees, and a program closing meeting at the NCURA FRA/PRA meeting in March 2018.
For the meeting schedule and further program details, see the program announcement at https://ucsf.box.com/v/GlobalMentoring.
To be considered for the pilot program, you must fill out an application (see links below) and obtain your supervisor's approval. The completed and approved application is due no later than midnight GMT on July 10, 2017.
Please put careful thought into your application as the information on the form will be the primary factor used to select individuals to participate and for matching to a mentor.
If you are interested in the program and want to get more information, obtain a better understanding of the commitments required, and learn about the benefits of participating first hand, please review the materials at https://ucsf.box.com/v/GlobalMentoring. If you still have questions, please feel free to email the program sponsors at NCURAGlobalMentoring@....
