欢迎光临   -   Välkomn  -   Bienvenido   -  Vítáme vás   -   Velkommen   -    Hoş geldiniz   -  Karibuni  -  أهلاً و سهلا

No matter how you say it - Greetings and welcome to NCURA's Global Community!

I am pleased to have the opportunity to serve as Co-Chair for the Global Community, so please let me introduce myself.

I have been at the University of Michigan for over 31 years, including 20 in the Department of Otolaryngology, where I have been immersed in research finance management.  I joined NCURA in 2007 and have had the pleasure to become involved by regular attending and presenting and regional and national meetings as well as volunteering for committees, service to the Region IV Board of Directors and conference planning.

I enjoy photography, crocheting, knitting, being in the great outdoors and going to National Parks.

I very much look forward to collaborating with each of you and engaging our audience for everyone's benefit.

If you were to ask me for my personal motto it would be "If you're not enjoying yourself, you're not doing it right." So I say enthusiastically let's connect globally!

Well I'm not going to let the "girls" have all the introductions to themselves.

Hi I'm Simon, but you can call me Simon.
I head up the research office here in Kent (no, not Kentucky, nor Kent State, but the original...) just east of London in the UK, currently in Europe... hmm.

Anyway I'll be over in DC for AM59 looking to meet old friends and perhaps even make new ones.  I've a couple of speaking engagements, so if you are unlucky enough to be in one of my sessions and don't have to leave before then end, then do pop to the front to say hi.  I don't bite (and neither do my dogs... but I might inflict a photo of them on you...)

Of course you don't need to wait until August... lets collaborate!

Good morning, fellow Research Administrators!

I am little late to the introduction emails so I apologize.

I am still catching up from my trip to Tyumen, Russia in May.  I was a recipient of the NCURA-EF Global Fellowship to Russia.  I just spent 2 weeks with Tyumen State University (or University of Tyumen – seems marketing folks at the university are trying to change the name).  The trip was wonderful and I found a number of potential collaborations between UNCW/the UNC System and Tyumen State University.

I am currently the Director of Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance (SPARC for short).  I have been a Seahawk (that is our mascot and we do have real Seahawks flying around campus) for 7 years now and am enjoying every minute of it!  I have been in research administration for over 30 years at various universities, state agencies and even non-profit groups.

I will be attending AM59 and look forward to meeting as many colleagues as I can.

Tricia and I are "hosting" a discussion group "Global Fellows:  Experiences, Hosting and Opportunities for Collaboration on Wednesday,  August 9th from 10:30 to noon.  Please join us if you can.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello Panda,

I will definitely try to attend your session I am currently in Budapest, on the NCURA/EARMA Fellowship program and hosted by Europa Media. This trip has been amazing! I look forward to hearing about your experiences and sharing some of my own.

Greetings everyone! Please allow me to join the introductions.

I am pleased to have an opportunity to collaborate with you all in the NCURA Global Community.

A few words about myself.  I work at the University of Kansas, in Lawrence, KS, a vibrant university community outside of Kansas City.  I have over 17 years of experience in research administration, specializing in post-award activities, PeopleSoft data quality assurance, as well as training programs for research administration staff.

In the last few years had a great privilege of attending a number of NCURA conferences and presenting at a few.  I met some of you in person already, and I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you in the future.

My general outlook on life is – let's learn more new things and share the knowledge we have, and encourage others to share their knowledge – you know, there are so many people out there that know so many cool things, if we can only learn from them!  The opportunities are endless!

I know, this sounds so much like research administration – it's something new … all the time … and we have to share it.

… and Yes, I can be very enthusiastic at times.

I am looking forward to collaborating with everyone in this community.
