Description:

The report on US Funding Opportunities for Europeans is one of the main outputs for the BILAT USA 4.0, a project to enhance and develop science, technology, and innovation cooperation between the European Union and the U.S. As the co-coordinator of the project, one of NCURA’s tasks is to disseminate knowledge about US funding schemes that are open and applicable for European participation, and this report serves as the output of this task. Author/editors are responsible for researching, compiling, and finalizing this document on U.S. federal and non- federal funding opportunities that are open and applicable to European researchers.

DURATION: 3 Months

  1. Function of Position - To deliver a finalized report on 2016 U.S. funding opportunities for Europeans. This includes:  (1) Researching and identifying U.S. funding opportunities and programs from public sources and communications with funding entities; (2) Compiling all information in the required report format; (3) Managing writing staffs (if applicable).
  2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities & Time Commitment – The authors will research and compile a report on U.S. funding opportunities, and participate in telephone conference calls with NCURA Global on an as-needed basis. In addition, much of the work will be accomplished through e-mail and other electronic means.  Approximately 8 hours per month, averaged across 3 months, can be anticipated. 
  3. Scope of the Work- The report should at least consist of following elements:
    1. Description of the Grant
    2. Area of Funding
    3. Type of Funding
    4. Budget
    5. Duration of Funding
    6. Funding Conditions
    7. Application Notes
    8. Link to the Funding Posting Page
  4. Qualifications/Requirements
    1. Knowledge and/or Skills – Stellar writing skills, an understanding of U.S. funding mechanism, and a strong commitment to enhance NCURA’s leadership role in the global research management community. Having access to research funding databases.
    2. Experience - Prior experience with pre-award issues, particularly focus on funding opportunities. Prior experience related to global or transnational collaboration, especially with Europeans is preferred.
