I was hired in February 2015 to establish and manage all aspects of the research enterprise at Florida Polytechnic University. In addition to the standard areas of proposal management, electronic research administration (era), budget development, compliance monitoring (conflict of interest, time and effort, etc), and post-award oversight (purchasing, cost determinations, budget transfers, personnel actions, etc.), I have been heavily involved in establish a research collaborative ecosystem, encouraging faculty and staff to brainstorm and interact frequently.
Additionally, I have spearheaded other efforts with internships and national fellowship management and support for students.
Prior to joining Florida Poly, I set up and managed the first office of sponsored research at New College of Florida as the Director of Research Programs and Services.
While at New College, I also assisted students in crafting, developing and applying for research grants and internships as an integral part of their educational portfolio. [New Scholars] New College is a community-wide celebration of undergraduate research with over 70 student per year participating by giving oral presentations, poster presentations and keynote presentations.
As the Human Protections Administrator, I oversaw all aspects of the Institutional Review Board, including outreach, management and participation as an Ex-Officio member of the IRB.
