DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The NCURA Magazine keeps the membership informed of news and items of interest within NCURA, and in the field of research administration.
DURATION:
Three years.
A. Function, Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
- The Co-Editors of the Magazine are responsible for the overall
development of the Magazine, including determining the contents
of each issue, assigning articles to authors, overseeing deadlines
for article submission, writing and editing, and possible article
follow-up opportunities associated with articles submitted, i.e.,
involved in a Live Blog Feed, YouTube video, NCURA Collaborate
discussion, etc.
B. Time Commitment Approximately one day per
issue (6 issues per year) is devoted to Magazine responsibility.
On an average, two hours per week, is anticipated.
C. Qualifications/Requirements
- Knowledge and/or Skills - Familiarity with
NCURA, including its structure, organization, culture, regions
and membership. Knowledge of research administration issues and
current topics. Ability to manage content development of a
publication with a number of topics, with varying levels of
seriousness. Ability to prioritize information for publication.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Participation in NCURA activities desirable.
D. Training and Support - Extensive support is available from the NCURA staff.
E. Additional Information (Benefits, Cost Reimbursement, Travel Requirements, etc.) - Travel for Magazine business is reimbursed by NCURA.
