55th Annual Meeting Post News!

AM55 is now behind us.  It was a great way to start our new tradition of Annual Meetings in August.  I was so excited that we were able to raise over $10,000 at AM55 for this worthy cause.  You can read about it in the “green” NCURA Magazine.  As I said before, in this time of shrinking budgets at our institutions, imagine what could be accomplished if we all gave something to this Fund.  I hope you’ll be inspired to make a contribution as well.  We are an organization of about 8,000 people.  Imagine what would happen if every person gave $10!

The Education Scholarship will complete both a business plan and a marketing plan by the end of this year, so be sure to look for opportunities to contribute.  FRA and PRA will take place in San Francisco in March of 2014, so I’m sure there will be more fund-raising opportunities there.

In September, I was fortunate to be able to attend the Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS) meeting in Adelaide, Australia.  It was a fantastic experience, and another opportunity to reinforce that research administration is a global enterprise.  It also reinforces that NCURA is global.

Your Board of Directors will be meeting in early October to continue the business of NCURA.  We will be approving new committee members for the PDC, the FMC and the N&LDC.  I’ll tell you more about it after the meeting.
