    Hello everyone,
    I am taking a course as part of my Ph.D. program that deals with international issues. I am interested in researching research administration in European countries. I've done some cursory research and have signed up with EARMA, and have been able to cull a few articles from RMR and the NCURA magazine.

    Are there any other resources anyone can point to that would discuss how research administration is situated in Europe (or a particular country)? What, if any, differences exist between that and US research administration?

    I would highly recommend that you conduct qualitative interviews with international research administrators that are members of NCURA.

    I could give you an overview of the situation in Norway. We just created NARMA, Network for Administrators and Research Managers. Your sister organization in Norway. For Denmark get in touch with John Westensee of DARMA. For Finland FINARMA.     Will you be at the NCURA Annual meeting in August?  We will likely have several folks who are EARMA members at that meeting and we can help you get connected.

    Thanks everyone for your responses!

    Dan - Yes, I'll be at the national meeting in August. By then, my class will have concluded; however, it will still be great to connect to some folks in Europe, especially if my dissertation includes that component (I'm still wading through ideas). Thank you!

    Denise - Thanks for the contact. I will make sure to touch base with her.

    Colin - Thank you for the offer. Even if Norway is not in the EU, it would still be beneficial to get a cursory review of how things work there.

    Delia - Thank you..I did consider that, but for the purposes of the paper I have to write, and still may go that route to help support other documents/lit I can find.
