  • 1.  Ann Granters Questions for Next Magazine

    Posted Tue October 15, 2013 14:16
All, at this point we have been happy with the success of re-publishing some of the Ann Granters articles in the NCURA Magazine. We now want to move to a next phase where I solicit a few questions for Ann to consider from our membership.

Our next Magazine issue theme, for December, is "Research Across Borders: Institutional and Geographic". I wanted to see if any of you have questions, based on this theme, that would be fun for Ann to tackle.

    Thanks,

    Hi Dan,

I'm wondering if Ann thinks there will be real opportunities for support of U.S. researchers with the release of Horizon 2020?

    Hi Dan

I was wondering what other institutions are doing when issuing a subcontract to international collaborators.

    What should be considered?

    thanks

    Dear Dan,

I'm also very intersted in the subject Rosaria raised. We are even in a more peculiar case as we are a foreign institution, subcontracting to other foreign institutions. I wonder if any of the members of the International Community have ever been in this position and how they dealt with that.

    Thanks,

    Iesel

    Dear Dan

Also from our side - we are very interested in following up on these questions. We are involved in a few NIH-grants and are interested in policies, procedures and regulations.

All, thanks for the questions - I will review and pass to Ann the ones that Ann will get us GREAT responses from!  :)  As a reminder, Ann is our "Dear Abby" of research administrators (but so much more).  Yes, you may get a nugget of truth in these answers, but you will also see some humor, wit, and down right silliness.  A bit of levity is good for one's soul and with all "funny business" going on with our Research Admin. world, we can use our own funny business!

Thanks and keep the questions coming!!

    Cheers,
