European funding information and assistance

  • 1.  European funding information and assistance

Last night I attended a presentation by Dr. Izabella Zandberg of Euroaxess network. She was in Houston for a conference and the Italian Researchers' network contacted her for a presentation. She brought Dr. Graham Wilkie of the Marie Curie program and Dr. Reinhard Schulte-Braucks of the Space Research, European Commission grant program. All three gave excellent presentations about the ins and outs of collaborating with EU partners. Izabella's  office is in Washington DC and she represents EU for outreach of research and funding opportunities. It seems to me that Euroaxess is the equivalent of the NSF office in Paris. Euroaxess can provide a networking tool for European researchers abroad, they can also link American researchers to universities in Europe & beyond for collaborative opportunities within a specific reseach area(200 centers in 37 countries), and finally they can assist with european grant application processes. Her email is : izabella.zandberg@...  The big news of the night is July 10th-that is when all the new priorities will be posted for the 2013 round. I would recommend contacting her for specific information.
