Registrations are now open for the free Info Day on Horizon 2020 (the new European Union research funds for 2014-2020 totaling €70 billion) scheduled for Friday 17 January 2014 in Brussels.
Specific focus will be on the Societal Challenge 2 call for proposals on the following topics: food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine / maritime / inland water research bio-based industries and the bioeconomy. An afternoon session will focus on the Blue Growth Call, which will address the five following topics: marine life diversity, sustainable harvesting of deep-sea resources, new offshore challenges, ocean observation technologies, and related socioeconomic dimensions.
