Dear colleagues,
With great pleasure we would like to inform you that on 16 December 2016 the Federal Council of Switzerland has ratified the protocol on the extension of the free movement of persons to Croatia. This means that as of 1 January 2017 until 31 December 2020 Switzerland is fully associated to Horizon 2020 and research institutions, organisations and SMEs based in Switzerland are able to submit proposals to all Horizon 2020 calls. Successful proposal will then be directly financed by the EU.
Today, also the European Commission as well as the State Secretariat of Education, Research and Innovation have updated their information on the status of Switzerland within the Horizon 2020 Programme on their websites.
Please note that the decision of the Federal Council does not have any consequences for running Horizon 2020 projects.
If you as a Swiss partner intend to enter an already running Horizon 2020 project or if you would like to transfer your Horizon 2020 project to an institution outside Switzerland, we would kindly ask you to contact us.
We highly appreciate the endless and constructive efforts of the State Secretariat of Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), the Mixed Committee (with representatives from the EU and Switzerland managing the implementation of the bilateral agreements) and the European Commission in this matter – thank you, this is truly an achievement the scientific community cannot value highly enough.
With the best wishes for a successful 2017 and warm regards,
Your EU GrantsAccess Team
