    Dear Community,

With Covid, we have an increased demand for paying research subjects remotely/electronically.  Mailing checks is not an appealing option for anyone involved.  My institution is considering allowing the use of electronic apps such as Zelle, CashApp, Venmo, etc.  We would like to know what other institutions are doing to address this increased need, particularly regarding the use of these apps.

Are your institutions using these apps or other methods to pay research subjects remotely?

Thanks so much for any feedback you can provide.  Please feel free to email me directly if you prefer.

    Good morning,

We are using Greenphire which is an electronic clincard payment system.  It is working well for us.  We do have to pay for the usage but it is an allowable charge.

    Kind regards,

We are currently paying research subjects by way of gift cards. They have proven to be the most efficient.

I have had great results using e-gift cards from Amazon as participant incentives.  As long as the participant has an email address, it can be delivered, and Amazon provides a list of the e-gift cards that have been received/redeemed.  It was a great way to keep distribution records.

    Good morning,

Our department also provides various gift cards for participants.  I believe we do it through Tango Card.
