We are excited to announce the launch of the U.S. – Egypt Science & Technology Joint Fund Cycle 20 call for applications for Collaborative Research and Junior Scientist Development Visit Grants.
Collaborative Research Grants foster research collaboration between Egyptian and U.S. scientists, with up to $200,000 USD available for each country's research team. Researchers from U.S. and Egyptian scientific institutes, universities, research centers, and governmental agencies are eligible to apply. U.S. researchers from private sector companies are also eligible to apply.
Junior Scientist Development Visit Grants provide up to $30,000 USD for short term research training visits for Egyptian researchers to go to U.S. institutions.
Applications will be accepted for research in the four general areas of agriculture, health, energy, or water, or for work at the nexus of two or more of the four general areas. In addition, applications will be accepted in machine learning/artificial intelligence in one of these four general areas.
Proposals in priority topics and interdisciplinary research, at the nexus of two or more of the four general areas, will receive priority consideration during review. Applicants are urged to clarify the relevance of their proposals with respect to these general areas and the priority topics.
Proposals for translational research should include a plan for how the researchers will work with/engage potential users of their research/results as part of their research design. It is strongly preferred that the potential technology end users be located in Egypt or the United States.
