    Good morning everyone,

Please see an important message from OMB Senior Policy Analyst Gil Tran, posted below.   Thank you!

Hi Colleagues, we have received several inquiries from universities the last few days  on the micro-purchase threshold, no doubt in light of the approaching fiscal year end on June 30, 2018.  We like you to communicate the following message to your university members.

"Under NDAA 2017, a university can use the micro-purchase threshold of $10,000 (even though, the Uniform Guidance is unchanged at $3,500).  The reason is that NDAA 2017 is a statute that was effective December 13, 2016 and it specifies a $10,000 micro-purchase threshold for contracts, grants and cooperative agreements for universities and other types of research organizations.

In addition, OMB does have a memo coming out to cover provisions for both the 2017 and 2018 NDAA micro-purchase and simplified acquisition thresholds. Please contact Mary Tutman (202-395-1703) or Gil Tran (202-395-3052) if you have any questions."
