  • 1.  Delay expected for eRA Commons account creation?

    Good morning to you.  I set a PI up with an eRA Commons account yesterday, but no confirmation email has arrived to the Inbox or Spam folder.  It's not panic time for another few days at least; have you had a similar situation in the past few days that resolved itself, or are you also waiting for new accounts to be activated? What's a "typical" turnaround time, even if we're not particularly "typical" at the moment?

    We are experiencing the same issue at the University of Minnesota, so you are not alone. It is typically very fast, but has not resolved itself (it's been about a week). 

    My situation isn't urgent, so I haven't tried to contact the eRA Commons Help Desk. I am guessing it isn't operational, but I haven't checked. That would be the first stop.

    I'm a bit of a broken record sharing this link, but I've found it rather informative: https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-26-004.html

    Based on this, I think that a lot of eRA Commons functions are not happening/delayed, and support is limited.
