Hi Rebecca, I see there have bee no responses here but if you were able to gain any insight from other sources, I'd be curious to chat. I am currently supporting a PI at University of Washington who is part of a team applying to the ERC Synergy Grant opportunity. Our Lead Institution is at Oxford and we are the only U.S. based partner. I am concerned about running into some of these same issues and am looking to find out more information as we are still in the pre-award stage. Thanks!

Subject: EU Funding Questions - Public Institution Concerns
We recently went through our first proposal/award process involving EU funding. We encountered several hiccups that ultimately led to us not accepting the funding award. While many concerns are common for any IHEs, some are specific to our status as a public institution. Along those lines, we have also had challenges registering in the EU's funding and tenders portal since we are a part of the larger University System of Maryland. Our EU contacts told us that we cannot register as an entity and must use the registration for the overall university system. I wonder if other institutions in a larger university system have encountered this issue. And, if so, how was it resolved? Any insight is much appreciated!
