You are invited to participate in a survey for the research study,
Exploring AI Adoption, Perceptions, and Hesitancy in University Research Administration, conducted by the University of South Carolina, examining perceptions, adoption behaviors, and hesitancy related to artificial intelligence (AI) among research administrators.
Purpose of the Study The purpose of this study is to examine perceptions, adoption behaviors, and hesitancy related to artificial intelligence (AI) among research administrators. This survey is grounded in two validated instruments: the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and the Artificial Intelligence Self-Efficacy Scale (AISES).
What Participation Involves If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete an online survey (approximately 10 minutes).
Your total time commitment is approximately 10 minutes.
Eligibility To be included in this study, participants must be 18 years of age or older, employed as a higher education professional engaged in research administration workflow-based tasks, and can have varying levels of AI experience, ranging from novice to intermediate.
Voluntary Participation Your participation is completely voluntary. You may skip any questions and may withdraw by closing your browser at any time without penalty. Your decision to participate will not affect your employment, job standing, or relationship with your institution. Supervisors are not involved in recruitment and will not know whether you choose to participate.
Risks and Confidentiality This study involves minimal risk. You may experience mild discomfort when reflecting on workplace practices or AI use. Your survey responses will not be linked to any identifying information, and IP tracking will be disabled. Data will be reported only in aggregate form.
Compensation You may opt into a drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card. Entry is optional, and your contact information will be stored separately from your survey responses. You may withdraw at any time and still remain eligible.
