    Please note that this workshop is being offered in person by NCURA Region I in Burlington, MA on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM.

    We are posting this here to encourage members of neighboring regions and remote members of other regions who are geographically located in New England to attend.

    International collaboration is now more important than ever. As our institutions adapt to the new U.S. funding landscape, Region 1 is here to help. We have a full day dedicated to learning more about how to navigate European Commission/European Union funding, including Marie Curie fellowships, European Research Council Synergy Grants, and funding available under the Health Cluster.

    Registrants can sign up for a full day or pick between morning or afternoon. This event will be hosted at the NU Burlington Campus. Parking is free and meals are included in the registration fee.

    • Horizon Europe structure

    • Ways to participate

    • What you need to know about proposals

    • Required registrations

    • Proposal process

    • Compliance

    • What you need to know about accepting awards

    • Award structure

    • Negotiation considerations

    Afternoon Workshop:

    • Post-award management of EU/EC funding

    • What your department/PI needs to know

    • Record keeping and reporting best practices

    • Understanding audits in the EU context

    • Audit requirements

    • What to expect

    • Understanding compliance requirements with an emphasis on research integrity and security

    Learning Objectives:

    • To help participants understand EU funding mechanisms

    • To facilitate understanding of how to prepare the institution and faculty to receive these grants

    • Understanding compliance, audit and oversight requirements

    • Understanding of and tools to facilitate the post-award oversight of EU grants
