  • 1.  NIH has quietly removed RFP's and NOT's over the past 2 weeks

I've heard through the grapevine that NIH started removing RFP's/PAR's and NOT's on Friday, 2/21 without announcing it. With some help from a colleague, I was able to create and verify the attached Excel document by searching for archived dates for HHS proposals in Grants.gov.

It's not as easy to find a list of NOT's that have been removed since you don't apply directly to NOT's, but I do know that NOT-OD-20-031 was removed (https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-20-031.html).

It is out of character for NIH to end things quietly, they tend to keep the NOT/RFP online and add text that it has been rescinded/archived (here's an example of the level of detail NIH normally gives: https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-18-210.html). There is speculation in the grapevine that they may be re-released just as quietly, so this is something we might all want to keep an eye out for.

Thanks for doing this work, Megan. Everything that is happening is so disappointing.
